The diagnostic imaging medical physics residency program at Health Physics Northwest is currently seeking approval for accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP). Please note our residency program has not yet been approved by CAMPEP. Our residency program duration is two years, and begins and ends in July. Upon completion of the residency program, the resident will be capable of independently completing physics evaluations for all diagnostic imaging modalities and will be well-prepared for future board exams, specifically parts two and three of the American Board of Radiology (ABR) exam.
Interested applicants must have completed or must be completing their graduate work from a CAMPEP accredited graduate program, or show that their graduate coursework is equivalent to the core graduate curriculum given in the CAMPEP Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Educational Programs in Medical Physics.
If the applicant’s undergraduate degree is not in physics, three or more upper-level undergraduate physics courses must have been taken and passed. Applicants must have graduated from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program, or possess a PhD in physics or related discipline and have completed a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program. If the interested applicant did not attend a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program, they must have taken and passed coursework that satisfies the CAMPEP standards for graduated education.
In the event that an applicant is admitted with deficiencies in their academic background, remedial education will be required. The remedial education must include any remaining coursework needed to satisfy the completion of the CAMPEP standards for graduation, which must be assessed and approved by CAMPEP.
Applications are accepted from December 1st through January 15th. Interested applicants must submit their resume or CV, both undergraduate and graduate school transcripts, and three letters of recommendation to firstname.lastname@example.org.
