Health Physics Northwest sets itself apart as the medical physics and health physics provider that is always available to our clients. Each of our eight full-time physicists works out of our dedicated office and lab building in Southeast Portland alongside our full-time support staff to make sure that your calls, e-mails, texts, and faxes are always answered by a real person. There is no charge for phone time and we’ll make sure we listen to you and communicate everything you need to know.
We have been serving the Northwest for more than 40 years and have a current combined experience of more than 100 years. The Northwest is our backyard and we take pride in providing the best customer service and state-of-the art support in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. Our staff works collaboratively with each other as well as the Departments of Health in all of these states. Our physicists are formally recognized by these states, the FDA, the ACR, and the Joint Commission as qualified experts in our field.
HPNW provides equipment evaluations in CT, mammography, MRI, X-ray, nuclear medicine, PET, and ultrasound. Work performed in all of these modalities meets the requirements of the ACR, the IAC, the FDA, The Joint Commission, the State Department of Health, and the NRC. Our test equipment is state-of-the-art and meets all industry standards.
We also perform audits of radioactive materials programs and design and calculate the shielding needed for installations of radiation producing equipment as well as radioactive materials. Many projects and questions don’t fit neatly into a specific category.

We work hard at keeping our costs and invoices as low as we can. If you need us there tomorrow, we’ll be there. We know that when the X-ray tube or array is replaced in your mammography unit, you need us there ASAP. Our expectation is that we will start as soon as your service personnel are done. But for your regular periodic work, our schedulers work hard to include other facilities to minimize your cost. We’ll never ask you to find other customers to help reduce expenses. Instead, we’ll make sure you’re confident that we’re doing everything we can to keep your bills low. Our service to you can be with or without a contract – whichever suits your needs.
